How to Get a Faster CNC Quote
A few small things you can do when sending an RFQ that get you an accurate quote back in hours instead of days.
Want your quote back fast? Help us help you. Here’s what makes an RFQ quick to turn around.
Send a STEP file
A 3D STEP file is the single most useful thing you can send. It removes ambiguity and lets us evaluate machinability instantly. PDFs are fine as a supplement, but a solid model speeds everything up.
Call out critical dimensions
Not every dimension needs a tight tolerance. Tell us which features are critical and which are nominal — over-toleranced parts cost more to make and slow down quoting.
Include quantity and material
Price-per-part changes a lot between a one-off prototype and a run of 500. Tell us the quantity (or a range) and the material, and whether you need a specific finish.
Note your timeline
If it’s a rush, say so up front. We hold capacity for time-critical jobs and can tell you immediately whether a date is realistic.
